5 BEST FOODS TO TRY WHEN WANTING TO GAIN WEIGHT


 

Gaining weight is as difficult as losing it for some people. It’s all about calorie intake and exercise. Yes I mean exercise, however I will be focusing on the healthier foods you can eat on your weight gain journey.


Strictly homemade


 1. Homemade smoothies

The reason why I said homemade it is because store bought you won’t know what exactly they put the amount of calories you will be taking. 

Tip: add full fat Greek yogurt to any smoothie this increases the protein content.


 2.Raw nuts

Best snack ever when trying to gain a bit of weight. There are different varieties of nuts how swell is it. You can also add them to your smoothies.

My personal favorites: Peanuts (groundnuts) and Walnuts


3.Steak and rice

You still need a solid meal as well. This is your everyday meal. However you can increase your rice portion and have more carbs as well as the meat for protein which ever you do is the way. The rice must be brown rice as it is healthier and not processes. My favorite African brown rice recipe includes adding peanut butter to the rice making it peanut butter rice.


4.Sweet potato

For your tea or supper this is amazing as it is filling. You can choose how many you want on your plate it also depends on size. If it is fairly big I would recommend just 2. You can choose to mash them and have mashed sweet potatoes for dinner.

 

5.Cheese (cheddar)

One of my personal favorites. Cheese can be added to anything. So many meals. For breakfast you may have toast, egg, cheese and lettuce. Or just cheese and egg plus any meat you would like. Cheese burger.
